Meet the Team
Dustin Jones, Vice President & General Manager
Dustin joined Quality Products in September 2024. He previously worked for the Applied Solutions Group – Thermal Solutions Segment of The Heico Companies, first in Raleigh, NC and later in Exeter, NH. He began his career with Heico as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager and rose quickly to become Plant Manager of the company’s facility in Exeter, NH. Before Heico, Dustin had several roles with Siemens Energy, including a Field Service Engineering Team Lead and Manufacturing Engineer in Charlotte, NC and Orlando, Fl. He started his career through an apprenticeship opportunity in Tool and Die Making at Technibilt (Now Wanzl North America). After his apprenticeship program, he held the roles of Tool and Die Maker, CNC Programmer, and a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Technibilt.
Dustin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently working towards a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management at UNC – Charlotte.
Scott Zagora, Estimating & Business Development
Scott started at Quality Products in 2013 as a CNC machinist. He was promoted to machine shop supervisor in 2014, and then took on his present role in estimating and business development in 2018. Scott previously worked for his family’s gear manufacturing firm in Charlotte and for ECS Enterprises in Concord, NC.
Alan Silva – Engineering Manager
Alan began his career with Quality Products in November 2024. He was the first new management addition following the hiring of Dustin Jones as Quality’s VP & General Manager two months earlier. Alan previously served as Engineering Manager at Wakefield Thermal in Raleigh, NC, and as Project Manager at C/A Design in Exeter, NH.
Alan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
Greg Donaldson, Operations Manager
Greg started his career at Quality Products in 2002 as a fabricator/welder. He was promoted to Fabrication Manager in 2003, and then took on the added responsibilities of Shipping Manager in 2018. During May 2021, Greg was promoted again to Operations Manager. Prior to joining Quality Products, Greg worked at Fabtech Industries in Charlotte as a fabricator/welder and attended Central Piedmont Community College.
Joe Fabrizi, Quality Manager
Joe began working at Quality Products in Jan. 2022. He has worked in the manufacturing industry for about 30 years and has lived in the Charlotte area for nearly that entire time. Most recently, Joe served as Quality Manager at Whelan Machine & Tool in Louisville, KY, but after a year, he moved back to Charlotte for the opportunity at Quality Products.
Although he’s a longtime veteran of manufacturing, Joe graduated with a civil engineering degree from the SUNY Broome Community College. In his career, he has also served as a Quality Manager at Vanguard Pai Lung and as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Safe Fleet.
Laura Henderson, Accounting
Laura joined Quality Products in 2015 as accounting assistant. She handles all AR and AP responsibilities. Laura previously worked in numerous roles for several Charlotte-based companies, including as an office manager for Platt Construction, virtual assistant for Tamed Office, and office coordinator at SCA FabTool. She is also formerly the accounting assistant to the executive/management team at ITT/NexGen in Dulles, VA.
Bill Canning, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Bill joined Compass in March 2023. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Operations at Arrival Automotive, a UK-based manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles. Prior to that position, Bill was Vice President of Operations and Program Management at Mahindra genZe, a manufacturer of electric moped and e-bikes.
Bill has general management oversight responsibility for Quality Products as well as Compass’s other three operating companies in the greater Charlotte area (Advanced Machining, Gray Manufacturing, and Tri-Tec Industries) plus New England-based Bergeron Machine. In addition, he provides managerial and technical support to all Compass operating companies.
He began his career as a tool & die maker for Troy-MI based Henze Industries before graduating from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Under his watch, the firm’s custom CNC machining and fabrication unit grew from $1 million to $10 million.
Gary Holcomb, CEO
Gary is President & CEO of Compass Precision, Quality Products’ parent company. He joined Compass in October 2019 in conjunction with its acquisitions of Quality Products as well as Advanced Machining & Tooling, LLC and Tri-Tec Industries, LLC. Gary previously was CEO of Coining, Inc, President & CEO of Dawar Technologies, Inc, Vice President & General Manager of Fisher Scientific Company’s Lab Equipment Division, and General Manager of Dynamet Inc’s Forged Products Division. He graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Paul Wilhelm, Vice President & CFO
Paul joined Compass Precision, Quality Products’ parent company, in February of 2020 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. He has a strong CNC machining industry background. Paul worked for Paragon Metals from 2016 through early 2020, most recently as the firms’ Chief Financial Officer. Paragon machines tight-tolerance, precision-engineered metal components for the automotive industry.
Previously, he served in various accounting and finance roles for several other Charlotte-area manufacturing companies including IntraPac International, a speciality packaging company manufacturing plastic, laminate, tin and aluminum products. Paul has a BS in Business Administration and an MS in accounting, both from Georgia Southern University.
Jim Miller, VP Sales
Jim became VP Sales at Compass Precision in March 2021, moving from Orange County in Southern California. He has spent 25 years in the machining and fabrication industry. In his previous role, Jim served in a similar capacity as VP of Sales for Crenshaw Die & Manufacturing.
On two different occassions in his career, Jim started his own manufacturing company. His second venture — CJ Precision Manufacturing — grew to $1 million in sales in its first three years. In 2015, he sold the company to Crenshaw, where he worked for nearly six years before joining Compass. Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.
